Our 1-day Spring Break

Thursday, was our one day of Spring Break. Why, you might ask? Because Tyler only has class on Thursdays....other days he has clinicals which he doesn't get excused from. Silly, huh? We took advantage and drove down to Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We had lunch there, played a few video games and weren't planning on going to the beach, but the waves were huge and irresistible so to the beach we headed. Who knew you could have so much fun in the freezing cold, a little rain now and then, and freezing cold water? We had a blast!

I took off Damon's pants and shoes so he could run around in the waves, he loved it. Andee fell down in the water before I could get her pants off, so off they came, too. After she felt the shock of the cold water, she stayed and played in the sand. Tyler and I also couldn't resist getting a little wet, so we rolled up our pants and let the huge waves hit us. Unfortunately we couldn't roll up our pants high enough, so we got pretty soaked. It was so much fun!

Since Andee's pants got soaked, we used Tyler's shirt (after Damon) and turned them into pants for Andee. She didn't seem to mind, notice she doesn't have shoes either...also soaked. Poor Damon was freezing cold! He was running through some of the waves when a huge wave came in and he wasn't ready for the size of it and it totally took him out! He rolled a couple of times in the wave (freezing cold). His sweater, shirt and undies were soaked, so we used Tyler's shirt to put on his naked, freezing cold body while Tyler ran to the gift shop to buy him a new shirt. Luckily I had taken off his pants, boots, and socks earlier, so at least they were dry for him.

Here are some of the rides Damon and Tyler went on. Damon went on the kiddie rides by himself, and one of the bigger rides with Tyler. There were a lot of bigger rides, but since I'm pregnant, I couldn't go on any, and therefore Tyler said he didn't want to either. That's okay, it probably saved us $20.

I'm Bored!

How's this for a reason to blog....I'm bored out of my mind. So why not post some pictures about absolutely nothing for absolutely no reason? Here's to boredom.

How could I not post this picture? Damon has so many expressions, they always make me laugh. What a character.

Andee's typical scowl. She is so good at scowling. I think it's hilarious.

My mom sent Andee this headband and a purse for Easer (thanks mom!) and Andee hasn't taken the headband off all night. She's such a girl. First thing she did with the purse was put it on her arm. After I put the headband on her, she looks up at for approval, so I said, "CUTE! YOU ARE SO CUTE" she got a huge grin across her face. I told her "Go show daddy" she ran over to Tyler and just looked up at him, waiting...he said the same thing and she just grinned and stomped her feet in delight. Are we creating a monster?

Our Latest Outings

Jelly Belly Factory! Tyler had the day off yesterday so we decided to make the best of it and headed off for the Jelly Belly Factory. We took a tour of the factory...Did you know it takes 21 days for 1 jelly bean to be made? Good thing they make them in bulk. We found out that tidbit of info on our tour. After the tour we had lunch in the cafe and played around on all the little toys. We then walked over to the sample counter to sample any flavor we wanted, even the yucky ones. Tyler and I picked yucky ones for each other to taste. Tyler picked the vomit flavored one for me, which tasted exactly like puke, and the after taste was puke in your mouth! EEEEWWWW! Luckily the lady at the counter understood and had yummy ones available. I had Tyler taste the rotten egg, and he was even weird enough to try the skunk flavored one on his own. That one made his breath smell like skunk! How disgusting is that? But we had fun and the kids had fun. Damon loved riding the mechanical car, Andee wasn't so excited about that one. The easter bunny is going to be there soon, maybe we will go visit the easter bunny!

We (the kids and I) are getting a little stir crazy these days. Tyler isn't home enough to have the bug, but he's kind enough to cater to our need to get out. So last weekend, we went on a picnic up to Joaquin Miller Park up by the temple. It was so nice to be able to go on a hike, play in the stream and just let the kids run wild. We roasted hot dogs and got really dirty. How sad is it that a picnic seems like the best idea in the world sometimes.

Here is my little girl...oh wait, it's Damon. Putting the towel on his head is the only way we can get him to dry his hair. He seems to have a claustrophobic fear with things in his face right now. He hates putting on and taking off shirts...it's quite the ordeal these days.

New Shoes

I pulled out these shoes for Andee yesterday because she is outgrowing her other pair, she absolutely loves them! It was so funny to me because Damon never really paid attention to things like that, but Andee refused to take them off all day long. She threw the biggest fits when I took them off to change her diaper, for naps and for bedtime last night. It was so funny! First thing this morning she saw her shoes by the front door and brought them to me and wore them all day today as well. I hope I don't have a diva on my hands!

Notice the tears in the eyes? This was right after a diaper change...and that's the reason for no pants, not that it's warm here!

Backwards hat day

Andee came walking down the hallway with her hat sideways, the scrubber, and Tyler's phone and I thought it was the funniest sight. Kids do the funniest things!

Damon pulled out Tyler's hat collection the other day and all of us wore hats for at least an hour, even Andee.

As Mater would say, "Best Friends"

Damon and Andee have finally gotten to a point where they play together and I really don't have to worry. They are becoming such good friends and have so much fun together now.

Curly

The back of Andee's hair is curly and the front is super straight, so the other day I tried putting sponge curlers in her hair. Just thought she looked so cute!

My Pregnancy

This is mostly just documentation, so read if you want:

This pregnancy has been very different from my other two. I got pretty sick with the first two, nausea all day long, no energy, this time around has been so much better. I get sick every once in a while, but only if I don't eat. The only time I really get sick is the middle of the night. I wake up every 2-3 hours sick to my stomach and just try to go back to sleep, but sometimes I have to get up and eat. It is starting to get better, which I'm grateful for. I've already put on 6 pounds!!! Crazy! This time around I feel like I've started showing a lot sooner as well. Also this was not planned in any way, so Tyler and I we're taken by complete surprise, I even took 3 pregnancy tests because I couldn't believe it! Guess it was really supposed to happen?? So here we go, round 3!

Oops, we did it again!

Ok, I think pretty much everyone knows now...Baby #3 is on the way. I am 11 weeks along, my due date is August 17, and I am scared to death! We are going to have a family of 5, how crazy does that sound? It sounds pretty scary to me. I think the shock has finally worn off and I'm getting used to the idea. Wish us luck!

Nose Picker

Damon's been picking his nose a lot lately, so the other day I put Damon in his room for about 20 minutes for some quiet time and when the timer went off for him to come out, this is what I saw.

I almost freaked out, but then I noticed most of it was under his nose, and then I noticed it all over his clothes, and the carpet. I took him into the bathroom so he could see himself to try and scare him into not picking his nose anymore. It kind of worked, he still picks his nose, but when I catch him and say, "Damon, don't pick your nose", he says, "or else I'll get a bloody nose!"

Damon's Bee

The other day, Damon was playing outside and came inside with a dead bee. He said, "it died, it needs a band-aid", so Tyler wrapped the bee up in a band-aid and Damon kept it on our table for a few days. I had to wait a few days to throw it away to make sure that he had forgotten about it. What a funny kid. I'm sure he'll be bringing many weird/gross things home in the future.

New Years....

I'm slow, but my (ShaeLee) bro's came to Oakland to visit us for the New Year. Glad they came (for the most part...they know what I mean by that). It's always so nice to have family visit since they are so far away.

Funny pictures

Damon is getting pretty good at cheesing it for the camera. Here he is waiting in line to see Santa at our Ward Christmas Party.

Andee didn't last too long on Santa's lap. Why is he so scary?
