My legs were so dirty after the race. We had a timer tied around our ankles to get perfect timing, so that's where the line comes from. Good job to Janelle and Jeremy who ran the race too. You guys rule!

Half Marathon
I did it. Totally not what I expected. I was thinking it was a bike trail...paved...the way I trained...nope, it was rough terrain trails through the mountain. Uphill (both ways I swear), steep downhills with huge boulders and sharp rocks poking straight up, critter poop on the trails, weeds, and sand. The sand is what killed me! It felt like I had 50 lbs tied to each leg running through the thick sand. Believe or not, I loved it. Miserable yet fun at the same time! I didn't acheive my goal, which was to get it under two hours, but considering the circumstances (all the hills and sand) I am very happy with my time, 2 hrs and 10 min. I love racing more than training that's for sure. I'll probably do it again, but this time on a flat surface, road racing. I couldn't get any pictures of me during the race cuz I was alone, but I got some after the race. Tyler had to stay home with the kids because he had interviews for his 4th year.

CONGRATS!! I think it is awesome that you did it!! I am not a runner so it is even more impressive to me!
Way to go! You are my hero! I could never do something like that!
Way to go! That is so impressive! I wish I was more athletic. I used to run cross-country in high school (I knowit's hard to believe.) Unlike you, I liked practice and hated the races. Sounds like you get a big high from the races.
I was sad to read that Tyler and the kiddos couldn't be there to cheer you on.
Keep up the great work. Are you running a full marathon soon?
Wow Shae! That is so awesome. Congratulations
