White Powder in Rexburg

I know you're all thinking snow. The powder I'm talking about is thick, messy and doesn't melt! I'm talking about Baby Powder. What happens when a two year old gets a hold of a bottle of baby powder totally unsupervised? Let me tell you. Today (a typical Wednesday morning), Damon wakes up around 8:00. Andee was still sleeping, so I got up with him to feed him, change his diaper, get him dressed. We finished all this around 8:45 and Andee was still sleeping, so I turned on some cartoons and laid down on the couch. I knew I probably wouldn't fall asleep because usually anytime I close my eyes Damon comes running over to me and pries my eyes open and says, "Wake up Mommy"! Today was different, I actually fell back to sleep. I woke up about 20 mintues later only to find myself in complete shock! I opened my eyes and saw white! I was so mad I can't even tell you exactly what I said. I looked at Damon and yelled, "What did you do? I can't believe it, you are so naughty. Sit on that couch right now and don't you dare get off". After this he immediately started bawling and tried to run away from me. He knew he was in big trouble. I caught him and looked at him and actually tried not to laugh. He was completely covered in baby powder himself. His hair was white and clothes were white. I got him undressed at sat him on the couch and told him not to move, and for the first time he actually listened. He usually slowly inches closer and closer to the edge of the couch or chair until he slides off whenever he's in timeout. Not this time, he knew I was mad! I kept saying, I can't believe you did this. The carpet was covered with a light dust of powder, every shelf had powder on it, the walls, my parents leather couches were covered in powder, the plants, my mom's dress coat, my purse, an old antique table had huge piles of powder on it. The blinds, every single train, train track, truck, car, leggo, stuffed animal, and book had powder all over it. The fire place, my parents have a kitchenette downstairs, and the tile floor in the kitchenette was completely covered. Probably the things I was most worried about were the laptop keyboard, my brother's x-boxes and controllers, the dvd player, and my parents big screen t.v. It was like it had snowed in here. And maybe that's what Damon was pretending. I have no clue what could've been going through his head!!! I tried to picture exactly what he looked like spreading this powder everywhere, but the image was too cute and I was too mad, so I tried not to think about it. I didn't know where to start cleaning. I pulled out the vaccuum, my mom picked up all the toys (which filled up two big baskets)and took them upstairs and washed them in the sink. I pulled out a rag and started wiping down the room. The funny thing is, Damon managed to not get a drop of powder on me or the couch I was laying down on. Imagine that! Around 11:00, we finally got the room cleaned and luckily Andee slept the whole time. After my mom and I had gotten everything cleaned up I was thinking that I should've taken pictures. Hopefully I explained it well enough that you can picture the mess it was. When all was said and done I went over to Damon and gave him a big hug and told him I was sorry for getting mad at him. He looked at me and said, "Damon cried, Damon was in time out, Damon made a mess"! "I'm sorry mommy". I know he wasn't trying to be naughty, he probably had the time of his life making that mess. To all you mothers out there...Keep the baby powder out of reach!!!
