Tonight we attempted to try taking our own Christmas photo by putting our crappy camera on a timer. And you know what? It'll have to do:) Each picture someone is a little off, if only I had a sweet program where I could swap heads around, we'd have the perfect Christmas photo.

This last Friday Tyler was on call :( for some reason that really demotivates me to do anything during the day. The house gets really dirty, the dishes pile up and I really, really don't want to cook. Therefore, I ordered pizza! There was a coupon for a double layer pepperoni pizza from Papa Johns and it was most delicious...and extremely greasy.

We live about an hour and half from the Jersey Shore, we've made it to the beach 3 or 4 times this summer. It's always so much fun and makes me really want to live close to a beach forever!

Damon went up to Scout Camp with my dad for the day, he got home so tired. On their way back he told my dad that he was so hungry and so tired. My dad didn't have any food so stopped at a gas station and bought him a fat boy. He said Damon snarfed it down and said I'm still hungry, Grandpa. Needless to say, he fell asleep and was exhausted.

Teeball

Teeball isn't so fun, sorry Damon. You're my guinea pig. I definitely won't be signing my kids up for teeball anymore. Damon sits in the field and picks up dirt and puts it in his mitt the whole time, kicks dirt around, is dangerous with a bat and seriously can't pay attention to the game. Can't blame him, it's pretty painful to watch. This past Saturday was their picture day. I didn't want to pay $20+ for professional pictures, so I took some of my own with my crummy camera. And guess what? They turned out great, good enough that at least we can remember just how fun Teeball was.

Andee's Dance Recital

I signed Andee up for a dance class at our YMCA. She loved it. She was so fun to watch at practice. I was so happy that they did a little recital. She's such a sweet little girl.

Memorial Day

Tyler had Memorial Day off! YAY! Knowing that, I signed up for our Lansdowne 5k. I dragged the kids and Tyler along in the heat and humidity. IT WAS SO HOT AND HUMID THAT DAY! Our route ran through our little community and people were outside with their hoses spraying runners and it felt so good! At water stations I would grab a cup of water to dump on my head. My goal was to run under 8:00 miles and I did...barely. I ran 7:56 miles. Gotta do better next time. A friend of mine also ran, she's amazing. She won over all for the women. Then we watched a cute little Memorial Day parade. I can't really remember the rest of the day, I think we just did yard work. Fun, huh?

I actually got a medal! I placed 2nd in my age group. I better kick it up a notch when I turn 30, because I wouldn't have gotten a medal if I was 30.

My big 6 year old!

So I really wish I could upload the b-day song with cake, but for some reason it's having troubles. I forgot that I bought trick candles and Damon blew them out and put them on the table (with a paper tablecloth on it). They lit back up again on the table and burnt a small hole in it before Tyler grabbed them. OOPS :) My bad. It was pretty funny because as soon as the candles lit back up and burned the table cloth a fire truck drove by. Perfect timing. The video is so funny!

Damon has grown up so much this past year. He's done so well in kindergarten. Learning how to read, write, do math, count money, draw and color so much better! I'm so proud of him. He's really a sweet boy who's turning out to be a pretty good kid! LOVE HIM!

Summer cut

I don't know why, but Damon still cries when I give him haircuts. A couple months ago, I decided to try and take him to a salon and he did just fine. No crying, or jerking around. Perfect angel. So this time around I thought he would be okay if I did it. Plus, it was a buzz cut, so nothing complicated. Just a couple swipes with the trimmers. Here are the results:

It rains a lot here in the spring! We share this huge back driveway with 3 other homes (none of them have kids) so it's wonderful to send the kids back to ride their bikes, scooters and not have to worry about them too much.

The other day it had rained all day, the kids were a little stir crazy, so I let them go out and splash in the puddles. I was able to wash Damon's sneakers, but Andee's shoes are still soggy.

I signed Andee up for a little dance class at our local YMCA. She loves to dance around the house and show me all her dance moves, so when I told her she had a dance class this morning she was super excited. She is such a dainty, feminine little girl. The other day Tyler really wanted to take Damon to a Phillies Game. They pulled out the matching t-shirts and hats and took off. They parked at Tyler's work, walked to the subway which took them all the way to the ballpark. When they got there, THE TICKETS WERE SOLD OUT! Just eating a "super healthy" breakfast before school.

Damon has this new thing where he says, "Look mom, look how cute we are!" and he'll have his arm around Andee or Katelynn. One reason I love this picture is because they both just woke up and have the puffy eye/morning look. I told Andee to open her eyes and smile and this is what I got! HAHA.

Tonight I was putting Andee and Katelynn to bed and Damon was down in the family room. After I finished with the girls I went downstairs to read with Damon. He held up a book and said, "I want you to read this book, mommy" so I sat down on the couch with him and opened the book and this note fell out. He had been writing it while I was putting Andee and Katelynn to bed, and folded it up and "hid" it in the book where I would find it. I thought it was the cutest thing ever. Made me cry, just a little. What a thoughtful little boy.

The coloring turned out really bad for some reason, so I turned into a black and white and it's still not a very good picture.

One night I was doing homework with Damon, Andee was coloring and Katelynn was, well, doing what she does best. Getting into trouble. I knew she was under the table and I was completely ignoring her. I could feel her playing with my leg but paid no attention. Later that night when I was putting some socks on I noticed this and realized that she was drawing on my leg with marker! Good thing it was my leg and not the walls.

Andee's Birthday

December 1 was Andee's 3rd birthday. The second she woke up, she asked me "is today my birthday?" She was so excited when I told her yes! Damon was just as excited, he was running around the house yelling, "it's Andee's birthday, it's Andee's birthday". Just a normal day, until evening after dinner. We waited as long as possible for Tyler to get home, but ended up partying without him :( Our birthday song sounds so pathetic, it makes me laugh every time I watch it.

I bought this Jessie doll about a year ago for really cheap on some kind of Kohl's sweet deals. I have been saving it in my "secret hiding place" for a whole year now and was grateful to finally give it to her.

Damon was so excited to get his Woody out and play with her. Love those guys!

Damon is also very into "writing notes" and he wrote this for Andee. He knows that exclamation points are for when you are excited, he uses them a lot in his "notes". As you can see he was really excited for Andee's birthday. We ran to KMart that night, while the cake was cooking (it's seriously right around the corner from us) to get some frosting and I let Andee pick out some paper plates. I thought for sure she would pick Tinkerbell or the Princess plates, but to my surprise she picked Little Pony plates. What a fantastic night. No more birthday's Andee, please stay 3 forever!

Race #3

This weekend was my half marathon out in Amish country. Tyler wasn't on call this weekend, he even took extra days off so we could make a little weekend trip out of it. We drove up to Lancaster, PA which is only about an hour away and stayed for the weekend. The race was in the gorgeous Amish country, and the Amish children were handing out cups of water and gatorade at all the water stations along the way. It was so fun to see them and interact with them.

I didn't beat my last time which I really wanted to do. But for some reason this race was really hard for me. Maybe cuz it was my 3rd and I just wasn't that excited about it. Maybe because I was dehydrated and tired from mile 2. Or maybe it was the massive, crippling sideache I got at mile 3 that didn't go away and still hasn't gone away(and it's almost 2 days after). Or possibly all the hills, or my knees hurting, or all these excuses I'm trying to come up with to make myself feel better. My first race I ran in 2 hours and 10 minutes, my 2nd race was 1 hour and 59 minutes, and this one was 2 hours 5 minutes. And that can only mean one thing: I have to run another one so that I can beat my fastest time. Only this time I am going to wait a little longer to run my next one.

If the world came to an end, it would not affect them at all. What a simple, wonderful life. Tyler and I both want to join the Amish community at this point in our lives. Change our names so that we can hide from the government and the student loans we owe. LOL!

Today was one of those days where nothing goes right, everyone is cranky and tired and everything happens at the exact wrong time. I finally broke down into tears tonight at dinner (while Katelynn was rubbing her dinner in her hair, throwing her food everywhere and Andee just peed her pants all over the chair and rug) and of course Damon was really the only one to notice (Tyler wasn't home). He looked at me and said, "What's wrong Mommy, don't cry. Do you miss your mommy and daddy? Do you want to call your mommy and daddy?" That totally wasn't the problem (even though I do miss you dad and mom), so I was trying to think of a way to answer, to appease to him I just said, ya I miss my mommy and daddy. He said, "You meed to call them (that was not a typo, that's how he says need), here, I'll find your phone and you can call your mommy. Do you want to go see them over at the desert? (that's what he calls the west) Let's fly in the airplane and go see your mommy and daddy." Talk about turning the whole night around with a sweet innocent boy who is so worried about his mom. I no longer felt awful but wanted to hug all my kids and tell them how much I love them. That moment was worth "one of those days".

Killin time at the zoo

Wherever you live with young kids you have to become a member of the zoo, right? I mean isn't that just a rule of motherhood? Today Tyler was on call (which means he is at the hospital all day and all night) and that makes for a very long Saturday. Also the weather has finally cooled down enough that we can actually enjoy walking around the zoo for more than 45 minutes. At the zoo here in Philly they have a little play land that the kids absolutely love, plus it's air conditioned. I'm all about spending as much time in there as possible. I went a little camera crazy, probably making up for all the pictures I haven't taken this summer. I was really worried about Damon getting hurt because he wasn't wearing his sling. (I think I forgot to mention he broke his collar bone about 3 weeks ago) He's healed enough to the point that it doesn't hurt, but there is still a huge space in the collar bone where he broke it, so I try and keep the sling on him to remind him to be careful. Oh well.

Yes, that is a huge, huge, huge bee!

Can I just say how hard it is to try and take pictures and keep track of all 3 kids!

And finally, the story of the day...we were in the primate house watching all the apes, gorilla's and orangutans (my personal favorite because you always get action there). So you know those wooden things with animals painted on them and a hole cut out to put your face in to get a picture? Well, some girl (probably 9 years old) was putting her face in while her mom was taking a picture and her dad was standing next to her. Damon walks up to her wondering what the heck she is doing, puts his finger up to her nose (doesn't even touch her) and this dad grabs his arm right in front of me!!! I was so mad, I said "Let go, I'm his mother I can handle it." He says, "Then you better control him." I said, "I have 3 kids here by myself, and beside that he wasn't doing anything I needed to take control of." He said, "you shouldn't have so many kids if you can't control them, then." I was so mad (let my temper get the best of me) and called him a naughty word and walked off. As we were walking off, Damon said, "mommy, what's a !@#!@^*" Hee hee hee. I love that kid.

First Day of School

Damon's first day of Kindergarten. This picture makes me want to kiss and snuggle his cute little cheeks. Our little kindergarten (or should I say not so little, that school is bigger than the high school i went to) is about 3 blocks away. Damon was gone from 8:15am to 3:05pm!!!!!!! A full day of kindergarten, bless his little heart. He was so excited, sling and all. We woke up, got ready in his lovely school uniform, ate a hearty breakfast, made a lunch and off we walked to school. What a great moment. He loved it and did great. What can I say? I'm a proud mother!

Tyler and I bought this bike stroller when Damon was about 16 months old and haven't used it since then. I knew Andee would be a slow at walking so I had Tyler pull it out of storage and put it together for me (stroller style). My intentions were for Andee and Katelynn to sit in it, but when we picked Damon up from school I think he'd had a day full. He insisted on sitting in it and started crying almost immediately when I told him no. I could tell he was just completely worn out and felt so bad, we made it work.

Remodeling

Oh, the joys of owning a home! My parents came to visit for a week and my dad gets these crazy ideas. As he was sitting in our basement he talked us into knocking out our food storage closet to make the room bigger, moving the food storage in with the laundry room and eventually putting a bathroom in down there (because we only have one bathroom in this house). It sounded good to us, so we went to work and I love it! I haven't taken any finished pictures yet, because I have not been good with the camera lately. But here is the process....

Here is my kitchen, it was just a countertop and in this house I need storage space, so for an early Christmas present my dad bought us more kitchen cabinets! Thanks pops, I love it, love it, love it!

Don't you love my cake decorating skills? Haha, I wish! One of our local grocery stores offers a free birthday cake for the first birthday. So I jumped on that like white on rice. She sure knew she was special tonight. At our house, you have to fight for attention. When it's freely given by everyone, you know you're special. Katelynn had a nice sized piece of cake. She seriously ate every bite. Very impressive. Hey, what happened to my cake? I need more! Present time I think the older kids enjoyed her presents more than she did. She was more interested in the plastic it came in... ...and the boxes I tried to get all the kids to look at the camera at the same time, I gave up after two shots.

Time flies by when you're having fun, and that is Katelynn. A fun, sweet, squishy, lovable little girl. She is getting so close to walking, she is a very cautious child, and is very careful about each step. If she feels at all uncomfortable, she will sit down and crawl. One of these days she'll get it down and take off and then I won't be able to keep up. I can barely keep track of her as she's crawling around picking up everything off the floor, crawling up the stairs, pulling toilet paper off the roll, dumping out toys...you know, all that fun stuff :)

DADDY'S HOME

These kids couldn't be happier the moment Tyler walks through that door. They don't get to see him much these days, he leaves before anyone is even close to waking up and mostly gets home after the kids are in bed. And then at least once a week he is on call where he is in the hospital for over 24 hours. He's working so hard, and so sleep deprived, poor man. I hope he can survive these next couple of years. Anyway...as I was saying before, the kids are so happy when he gets home early (getting home early meaning around 7pm) They crawl all over him and wrestle with him, even Katelynn gets in on the action.

Does he look beat or what? Poor guy works at least 14 hour days. Uggghhh.

I got the p90x system really cheap on E-bay. I have been doing it for two days now and oh man do I hurt! All this hard work better pay off, and I'm not talking about the exercise (yes it's hard, but I live for stuff like that). I'm talking about the diet I'm supposed to follow. This first 30 days is supposed to be a high protein diet and I really want my sweets, breads, and all those yummy carbs that are so easy to just pop in your mouth. I know I will not be perfect, because I have already had sweets, but I only allow myself one per day...as compared to what i was eating before, (the candy diet). I would wake up and eat cookies, brownies, candy, candy, candy and more candy. I figure one sweet a day is okay and a lot better than what I was doing before. Totally unhealthy. Lucky for you I won't post my "first day photos". Besides they are more for me to see my progress than the world. Wish me luck these next 90 days, I'm going to need it.

Katelynn thinks she can keep up with Damon and Andee, but oh man does she ever scare me. I let her climb up to the third step before I freaked out and just put her up on top. The other day Katelynn and I were on the main floor and Tyler and the kids were upstairs. I wanted to run some treats over to our neighbor and decided I would be really quick and leave Katelynn. When I got home I looked all over for her and couldn't find her anywhere. I freaked out ran upstairs and asked Tyler if he had her, because I didn't mention to him that I was leaving her all alone while I was gone. He looked at me and said, she had crawled up the stairs! Talk about scary. I have to keep my eye on her, she sees Damon and Andee do too many things that she's not ready to do. What a cutie/stinker!

The kids latest thing lately is pretending Damon's bed is a boat and the long snake can be used as a fishing pole, a rope, etc. They have a funny ball that they call their map and Andee is the captain of the boat. It all started after I read them a book from the library...The Backyardigans and they are pretending to look for the "Monster of the Murk". They love playing this and can do it for quite a long time. In fact I usually have to break it up because I'll need to put Katelynn down for a nap or something like that. It's so fun to watch them play and pretend together. Little kids have such big imaginations.

The Fourth

For some reason, blogging is the last thing on the earth I want to do these days. I'd rather clean the bathroom! Anyway, our 4h of July was so much fun. Tyler had the day off (insert big huge smile) we did the parade which was one of the cutest parades I've seen in a while. Next we hit up the library, they have the most amazing kid's section. Tons of play areas and toys so I don't have to worry about them knocking books off the shelves while I look for books. Next was swimming, lunch at the park then home for naps. Dinner then fireworks. The little community here does fireworks at the high school, our neighbor lady was so kind and gave us her tickets to the firework show. The kiddos loved it. They ran all around the football field, danced to music and ooed and awed at the gorgeous fireworks. I was so impressed, I was even in awe. What a fun day/night and what a blessing to live in this beautiful country.

Catch up

We've officially moved to Philadelphia...actually we are in a suburb called Lansdowne. It is beautiful here, the trees are gorgeous, green, the homes are beautiful, I'm still adjusting to the weather...hot and humid. We spend a lot of time swimming in our little pool. I don't really know my way around yet, I can get to the grocery store, and a few other stores, but I don't really dare venture out just yet. Here are some pics of the last month or so, really haven't taken too many.

Moving Day: June 4, 2010

The kids were angels! I couldn't have asked for better behavior from them, especially Katelynn. She only got one nap that day, and she crawled around and when she would whine, I'd pick her up for a few minutes and then she was fine. We rented the smallest U-haul truck possible, so fitting our things in there was quite the puzzle. Everything had to fit perfectly so it took a long time to load it up because we had to think about how to get it in there just right. By the time we got the truck loaded, it was so tight we could not have fit a roll of toilet paper in there! After getting the truck loaded, we headed off to Bear Lake for the weekend.
Sorry didn't take many pictures. We mostly just relaxed and swam. My parents met us up there to take me and the kids back to Idaho with them while Tyler drove the U-haul across the country.

While in we were in Rexburg my mom and I ran in the Teton Dam Marathon races. We both did the half marathon. She's awesome! I finished mine just under two hours and she finished hers in 2 hours and shoot, I can't remember, something like 15 minutes. She rocks, I was so proud of her! My mom took all the pictures of us on race day, so I don't have any.

Then the kids and I flew out to Philadelphia. They were great on the airplane, watched movies on our portable DVD player and Katelynn slept almost the whole plane ride. Couldn't have had it easier than that! When we got here, Tyler had already been here a few days and had most everything unpacked and settled in. I just rearranged it all, but props to him for doing all the dirty work. So moving in was seriously, so easy, on my part anyway. The kids are loving it here, we've been to the zoo:

These were on the way home from the zoo. It was so hot, we couldn't even stand to walk around the whole zoo. We were there for maybe about an hour before the heat got to us. Poor kids were so red in the face and sweaty. Damon passed out on the way home, which is super surprising. He never randomly falls asleep. Usually it's the girls who do that, but they were wide and bright eyed the whole way home.

I know I've only been here about two weeks, but I can honestly say I like it here. My neighbors are extremely friendly and kind. I know them better already than I did my neighbors when we lived in Sandy, UT for a whole year! I've told Tyler I feel like I'm in a movie because of the way people talk around here, with that super cute eastern accent. I'm excited to be here for the next four years, I think I'm going to like it here!

If you ever get a cake from me....don't eat it! My kids love to stick their fingers in it and lick, lick, and lick some more. They love cleaning out the bowl after I pour the cake batter in the pan and quickly get it into the oven to keep the slobbery fingers from getting it even more saliva infested. Well this time during the midst of our cake making session I had to change Katelynn's diaper and came back to find a huge finger painting mess all over, even on the ceiling. Thought it was cute of them, couldn't even get mad.

The Fun Center

This place about 4 miles from our house, The Fun Center, has a $10/family on Monday nights, so we decided that would be our Family night. It's huge! There is a roller skating rink, jungle climing maze things?, about 6 bounce houses, laser tag, blast ball, and during the summer a water park. The kids love it! We went about a month ago to check it out and I wore jeans and a shirt and was soaking wet with sweat by the time we headed home...the reason...I have to climb with Andee and take her every where with me. This time I went prepared in my workout clothes and I still sweated to death. My confession: I probably have just as much fun as the kids.

So red-faced and sweaty! We were so tired by the end of the night, we all collapsed and slept great last night.

I decided to post about each of my kids tonight. They all are so special to me in such different ways. Damon keeps my spirits up. He is constantly going, going, going, and it might drive some people crazy, but it is something I love about him. He has so much energy and loves to laugh. He is starting to ask the funniest questions, some I honestly don't know how to answer. He is learning how to read and is getting better at writing. He loves to sing and play and burn lots and lots of his never ending supply of energy.

Damon is my little helper. Seriously this boy is such a natural with babies. He loves to hold, rock and play with Katelynn. He is pretty good at giving her bottles, but he is especially good at taking poopy diapers out for me. He runs them out to the "blue garbage" for me a couple times a day.

He loves chocolate and sweets just as much as the next person....

And then there is his thumb...what the heck is wrong with his thumb? Is it double jointed? Is there a bone missing? I took a couple of shots with different angles so you could get the full effect when he holds a pencil. He is getting really good at finding his way through mazes, connecting the dots and tracing.

Andee is such a special little girl. She puts up with a lot of teasing from her older brother and deals with it very maturely. She is starting to become very bossy, learning lots of songs and poems, she likes to color, and is very good at playing with toys and entertaining herself. Andee knows her alphabet and recongnizes all the letters! She is such a sweetheart, so fun to have around.

Something unique about Andee is her hair...it is so soft and fine and curly, it makes for some great hair days.

Andee loves her chocolate just like any other girl. She licked the brownie bowl clean and enjoyed every mintue of it.

Katelynn has been sleeping in our pack and play crib, but during the middle of the night and early morning hours she liked to scrape the mesh sides and it drives me crazy and would totally wake her up. So I decided it was time to switch her to the big crib and put Andee in a bed. I took Andee shopping for a new comforter and such so she was super excited. After we got her bed set up, she laid there for about 30 minutes and we had to bribe her to get out. This morning I realized I hadn't seen Andee for quite a while, come to find out she's laying in her new bed. She loves it, I'm so glad. I was a little worried because she loved the crib so much! Easy transition, didn't fall out of bed last night and didn't even get out of bed until 8:30 this morning.

Katelynn is officially 6 months old and spoiled by me! I just know that she is going to grow out of the baby stage too quickly and I'm hanging on. I love holding her, she loves to snuggle her cheek against mine. She is never going to learn to crawl because I love to hold her too much. Darn. Guess that's one way to keep them from growing up too fast, right? She is a sweet, happy, easy-going baby. She cooperates well when we go out and do things. She tolerates her older brother and sister smothering her. She sleeps through the night, and she loves to EAT! She snarfs down her solids so fast (must take after her mom). Her two bottom teeth are about to pop through, just waiting for the first day I get that bite, OUCH! I'm not sure about her measurements, but her 6 month check-up is Friday. Then I'll let you know how big the little stinker is. She is such a joy to our family. Don't grow up Katelynn, stay this young forever!

Just for the record, I changed 8, that's right, EIGHT poopy diapers yesterday! 4 from Andee and 4 from Katelynn. Were they in for some kind of competition? What the heck are they eating to fill that many diapers? Everytime I turned around, someone had a poopy diaper...not to metion having to wipe Damon as well. I think I should be off duty for a week or so, what do you think?

Stir Crazy

This winter hasn't been too bad, but the kids do go a little crazy being inside all day. The other day was pretty warm (warm enough) so I dressed them up and sent them outside to see that they found the biggest puddle of water out there. They got soaked, but at least they were outside having fun.

A much needed hair makeover

My hair was so nasty...the roots were grown out pretty bad, the cut had grown out really bad, let me tell you, it was so ugly I had given up even trying to fix it each day. I feel so much better, I can actually look in the mirror without dry heaving. My brothers got me a gift certificate at a salon in Provo, (secretly I think they were sick of looking at me, too) so thanks to them I got a free haircut!!!

Christmas 2009

Santa Clause came to the May house this year. Damon,Andee and Katelynn were obviously good little boys and girls. Hmmmm...ya, i guess they were alright. Damon woke up nice and early, shall we say 6? I put him back to bed, 2 min later, out of bed again, back to bed, 1 min later out of bed this time, he said he had to go pee. The little sneak ran downstairs to use the bathroom when there was a perfectly good one upstairs. Tyler went down to find him jumping on the mini trampoline that Santa brought. We couldn't get his initial reaction on video because he tricked us! I had the flu that started Christmas Eve, Christmas and the day after. So glad Tyler was home to take care of the kids. Other than that it was a perfect day. So fun to see how excited the kids get about Christmas.

Little Katelynn is 4 months old. Wow, and I love her more than ever! Everytime we make eye contact, the biggest, cutest smile breaks across her face. Today was warm(40degrees as compared to the single digits) so we took full advantage and went on a nice long walk. The kids loved it! Here is a picture of Katelynn from her first winter walk. So cute, I can't get enough of her chubby little cheeks!

This girl loves to eat! She will use her hands until she gets every last drop cleaned off her plate. I have to scrub her spot every single time, she is always this messy!

This boy isn't so much into eating. It's amazing how little he lives on! And I never have to clean his spot, he is the cleanest eater, so careful.

Andee's 2nd birthday was so fun. She was so cute and had a blast. She got to celebrate it twice this year. First in Rexburg over Thanksgiving weekend with my side of the family, and second here in Sandy on her real birthday with Tyler's parents. She had so much fun and loved being center of attention. Damon wanted so bad to open her presents for her. He had such a hard time just watching. We had such a fun night. Thanks to all for the awesome gifts. She loves her new toys.

When I was younger, my bros and I would make "leaf houses" out of all the leaves on the ground. I haven't done this for probably 20 years, it was so fun and the kids loved it! They would pretend to go to the bathroom, sleep in their bedrooms and sit in the family room. I told them what each room was and this picture does not do my "leaf house" justice. It took up the whole front yard. It was awesome!

I am a total Halloween party pooper this year, lame, I know. Just wasn't feelin it this year, so I pretty much didn't go to any effort with costumes. Damon is very particular about being Dracula every year, maybe one of these years he'll acutally let me dress him up and dye his hair and put the make-up on him. Andee was a princess only because that was something I knew she'd wear other than her throwing fits, and I wasn't even going to dress up until I saw Tyler's get-up, so I pulled out my old witch costume from last year. I'm so boring sometimes. Tyler left from Phoenix yesterday(Friday) at 5pm and got home today(Saturday) at 3:30am. We get to see him for a few days before he heads off to Denver for a month now. He brought his costume back with him. Ever heard this song, "Who let the dogs out? Ruff, Ruff, Ruff, Ruff" That's me, pullin my ugly scary face...ya. There's my cuties going trick or treating! I thought it was so cute watching them walk away. I'm kind of glad we live in a neighborhood where we can just walk door to door. After Damon was done trick or treating, he was so excited about answering the door for other trick or treaters. It was so funny, he was that excited everytime.

I think Damon's exhausted. For the past couple of months, Damon's been night walking (I guess that's what you would call it). At first I would find him in the weirdest places in the middle of the night. In the middle of Andee's room on the floor, in the hallway, I've even heard him walking around downstairs. I'll ask him what he's doing and he doesn't know or he'll say, "i'm just thinking". My reply to that is, "it's 3 in the morning, let's go think in your bed." It started making me nervous, so I told him whenever he gets out of bed to come into my room. That is what he's been doing for the past month or so. I'll hear him breathing or coughing or something and find him passed out in our rocking chair or in the middle of the floor. I'll wake him up and take him back to his room. This happens at least 4 times a week at least once or twice a night. It's actually very annoying, but I don't think he realizes what he is doing, so I can't get mad and can't really do anything about it. So today he got a little cut on his wrist, might I empahsize little. He refuses to wear band-aids so I put a wet rag on it. He wanted to lay on the couch, I put Katelynn's blanket on him, he didn't want it cuz it was a girl blanket. I took Andee upstairs for a few minutes to change her diaper and came down to find Damon soundly asleep (with the girl blanket). He hasn't taken a nap in a few months, and those of you who know Damon know he's not one to sit down and relax. I think the poor kid is exhausted from being up a couple times a night for the past couple months. So even though it is 4:30, I guess I'll let him sleep for a little while.

My brother Shawn has been here for a few days, he's such a great helper. He's babysat, taken the kids out and just helped take care of them. He's going to make a great dad someday. Katelynn is two months old now and I dare say, I absolutely adore her. I didn't know babies didn't have to cry or fuss. Seriously she never does. I am so grateful for her and her wonderful spirit. She is very special. Mostly for journal keeping purposes she weighed 10.2 lbs (33%) she is 23.43 in (86%) and her head is in the 31%.

Nothing much to blog about, Tyler's been gone for two weeks, but has also been able to come home both weekends, so this month has not been too bad. Thank goodness. On the upside of things, here is a cute story...

Last night about 4am, I had just got done feeding Katelynn and went to make sure that Damon and Andee were covered (cuz it gets pretty cold at night). I went into Damon's room and pulled the blankets up over him. As I was leaving the room he tooted and in his sleep he said, "Scuse me". I just smiled and realized how much I love that little boy.

Well, my birthday was last week (and I didn't really take any pictures), but Tyler got home from clinicals about 7, we got the kids to bed by 8 and then Tyler pulled out the big guns. He ordered out from the Olive Garden, had previously bought place mats and candles and had the whole thing set up by the time I had come downstairs from getting kids to bed. He's such a romantic guy....love him! So we had a delicious, quiet dinner and then watched a movie afterward. Tyler also bought me curtains for my birthday which I have wanted since the day we moved into this house. my family room is now complete! BTW, I'M 27....YIKES!

Time flies when you're having fun, right? I guess so, because I can't believe it's been a month. We celebrated Katelynn's 1 month at my little brother's wedding. He got home from his mission in June, and his girlfriend (who they dated for two years in high school) waited for him. And 4 months later....BAM, married. How awesome is that? Anyways, I love the girl he married. They are so sweet together. At the end of their reception, they had a little dance and my little bro was crying and she was wiping his tears. So cute! You can tell he absolutely loves her and her him. Ahh, doesn't it remind you of your newlywed days? It was such a fun weekend! Spending time with family, laughing most the time. My parents have a trampoline that Damon, JC, Kinny and I jumped on for about 2 hours. We played all the fun childhood games (crack the egg, dead man, dodge ball and duck-duck-goose) and just practicing old tricks. We talked my mom into getting on and playing with us. That was the highlight of it all. Watching her scream every time she jumped. Hilarious! She is a hoot. Damon loved the trampoline and I taught him how to do a few tricks. hmmmmm...what else....ya, pretty much just hanging out laughing and talking with everyone. Loved it! Glad we live closer and were able to attend their wedding.

Friday was Ty's b-day. What can I say? I love Tyler and our family would be so empty without him. As soon as he walks through the door everyday, a smile lights up on everyone's face. It's the highlight of our day when daddy comes home. I decided to go all out for Ty's birthday and got ambitious. I got online on KSL and found him a weight set and over 200 lbs of weights for $120!!! Talk about a great deal. So I Ioaded all the kids up, drove to pick up the weights, got home unloaded each weight, the bench and accessories down to our extra bedroom, cleaned it up and then set it up. It took a good couple of hours (which wasn't easy with three kids), but I know how bad he wants to work out (has wanted to for the past 3 years). But, Tyler is worth it! We sure do love him. I even tried making a giraffe cake (Damon's idea), but it was really, really ugly....so I tried not to get it in any pictures.

We had to light the candles with a blow torch because we didn't have matches.

Nothing too special, just hung out and enjoyed each other's company all night.

And of course, Katelynn slept through the whole ordeal!

2 weeks

Here is Katelynn's first two weeks of life! She is the sleepiest baby I've had. It's awesome! She sleeps all day and all night, too. Not literally, I do have to wake her up to feed her, otherwise she would never eat. Damon and Andee love her! They are always wanting to hold her and always crowding her (as you can see when she is in the swing). She gets way more kisses than she probably wants. Katelynn has the sweetest disposition, she is very patient and honestly never cries. I am so thankful that she was sent to our family. She is very special. We love her very much.

She even sleeps on the hard floor!

Damon is my little helper. All day long he is asking me, "Mommy, would you like me to hold Katelynn for you?", and whenever I have to put Andee down for naps and bedtime, I have Damon hold Katelynn in our rocking chair and he rocks her and sings to her until I'm finished with Andee. It's so cute to see him be such a good big brother.

Okay, so the other night the kids were in bed by 6:45!!! I know crazy, right? So Tyler and I had some spare time on our hands so we tried out Yearbook 2009, and had way too much fun with it. We did about 15 pictures each, but I picked out my top 5 favorites. Seriously, I wish I could put all of them on cuz they are so hilarious, but I'll just give you a glimpse of ourselves through the decades. If your bored one night, try it!

Water Fight

My little sister visited us for a while and I hardly ever pulled out my camera even though we did lots of fun things. But one day Tyler didn't have to go in to clinicals so we had a water fight. I love it when he's home!

Andee doesn't like the whole water fight thing, so we took a couple of timeouts for her to dump water on the rest of us...

Today after church I stripped the kids down to eat lunch and after eating they were wired! They got their little toys and chased each other around our little loop (kitchen-dining room-into the living room - and through the kitchen again) and they did that for about 45 minutes before we broke it up for naptime. But these pics are cute (I think)...maybe cuz they were having so much fun!

I know you probably can't tell by the pictures, but these guys were running as fast as they could with their toys. Where does this energy come from?

Andee has learned how to "shoot" a gun thanks to Damon. This is her shooting face.

Tyler made banana bread today and gave Andee the mixer to lick. Gross. Obviously she didn't seem to mind it. He tried to give Damon the other one, he's a little smarter.

Happy Anniversary

Can I just say, WOW!! It's already been 6 years, and today was probably one of the most fun days we've had in 6 years. We started out by going to about 8 different garage sales and finding some sweet stuff, and then Tyler was so kind as to get me a facial and chemical peel (my aunt Jeannette did a fantastic job, I more than loved it!!!), then Andee took a nap and Damon was down in the basement watching a movie and we decided to put together the new dorm room bunk bed we got at the garage sale this morning for Damon (might I add $20 for the bed including the mattress), which was way more work than we anticipated (long story) but we were laughing the whole time mostly at each other. Tyler was sweating to death and I had no make-up on because of the spa day and we looked at each other and said this is what 6 years of marriage does to you, beware newlyweds! But for some reason it was a blast, probably because we had no kids with us, or maybe it reminded me of the simple times. All I know is I couldn't ask for a better man than Tyler, at least that's what everybody tells me. How did I get so lucky?

Can you believe how young we used to look? And that was only 6 years ago. I am in shock!

My brother Andrew got home from his mission about 3 weeks ago and he finally came to visit us for a few days. We had a blast with him. We went to the Aquarium (here in Sandy) and the Hogle Zoo and laughed a lot. Damon had the hardest time remembering his name. He kept calling him JC (which is another brother of mine) and didn't even realize he was calling him that unless we said something. And then he would point to him and ask, "mommy, who is that?" I probably reminded him 20 times that his name is Uncle Andrew. Thanks for coming Andrew, we had so much fun with you!

We were having tons of fun and laughing so hard. Tyler was trying to be cool and show Damon all the tricks he could do.

And then of course Damon had to try and be cool, too!

Having a bedtime snack (actually Damon tricked me) I had just made chocolate chip cookies for our trip to Bear Lake (the next morning) and Damon came in and asked, "Mommy can you please set up the green chairs for me and Andee, we want to sit down for a little while" and I thought, "Wow, he asked so politely, what a sweet boy", so I go outside and set up the chairs and just as I turn around to go back inside, Damon walks out with two cookies. He says, "Here Andee, I got a cookie for you and a cookie for me". Tyler and I started laughing, he totally tricked me!

Tyler got a bag of popcorn at church for Father's Day, the kids took over the bowl immediately and wanted to eat it outside on the steps (which I actually preferred). Little oinkers!

One of my ultimate faves, only because this is a daily ritual. Damon sitting in timeout, of course blows it way out of proportion, Andee sitting by him wondering "Why the heck is he so upset, I'm the one that just got hit!" It's so funny to me that she always sits by him when he's in timeout.

Isn't she just adorable?

Damon wanted Andee to sleep by him....big mistake. After about a half hour of them just laying there talking (which was so precious) and Damon playing with Andee's hair, I had to break it up (9:00 pm). Andee was so upset, Damon was kind of relieved cuz he went to sleep right after that.
